Up Up and away Virgins take top the air

Bangers and Classics
International Motor Sports Ltd. (IMS) – the
commercial arm of the Motor Sports Association (MSA)
- has announced that it is to reinstate its iconic
classic car event, in partnership with Norwich
Union, after a ten-year gap.
The
Norwich Union MSA Classic 2007 will take place on
Sunday 14th October from start locations
across the country, with cars finishing at
Silverstone, after driving parade laps of the
legendary Grand Prix circuit. Bath, Brooklands,
Norwich, York and Silverstone

Architectural Icon
The Royal Crescent has been voted one of the
country's Top Ten Architectural Icons in a
recent Channel Four poll.

Important Visitors to the Crescent

In the early 1980s Her late Majesty The Queen
Mother arrived by helicopter on the Lawn

Left: In 1977 HRH Princess Anne, now HRH The
Princess Royal, arrived by helicopter on the
Lawn.
Right: In Spring 1992 journalists and
politicians invaded the lawn and demonstrators
gathered outside the Royal Crescent Hotel for
the meeting of European finance ministers, which
included the then Chancellor Norman Lamont.
Other Events
To celebrate their wedding on 16th July, 2005
the Society was happy to meet Bath couple
Nicholas Wylde and Lucy Coad's request to cut
their cake in front of their 70 guests on the
Ha-ha. The sun shone and the happy couple
celebrated against the backdrop of the Crescent.
